    Integrative Fertility Symposium 2016 and other important announcements

    Changes to clinic days / hours – important announcements: there are three very important events taking place towards the end of April and beginning of May that will affect the normal running of the acupuncture clinics.

    Siobhán and Sandro will be away from the clinics from April 23rd until May 4th (Siobhán) and May 11th (Sandro) as they will be present at the AFPA’s AGM and Conference in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, the Integrative Fertility Symposium in Vancouver, Canada, and the TCM Kongress in Rothenburg, Germany.

    We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our patients and we thank you all for your understanding.

    Ultimately, it is in the patients’ best interest that our clinicians stay at the forefront of developments in this medical field and we hope that Siobhán and Sandro continue to be an example for others to follow in the area of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, especially fertility acupuncture.

    Acupuncture for PCOS – Research by Dr Elisabet Stener-Victorin

    Dr. Elisabet Stener-Victorin is a researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, Department of Physiology at Sahlgrenska Academy, Göteborg University in Sweden. She received the three year Longjiang Scholar, Chair Professorship at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, China.

    She has worked clinically with Western acupuncture since 1987 and has done acupuncture research since 1991. Her main focus has been to investigate the effect of electro-acupuncture (EA) in reproductive medicine, both in clinical and experimental studies, which ended up in a Ph.D. at the department of obstetrics and gynaecology in 2000. She has continued as a researcher, investigating the pain-relieving effect of EA, as well as the effect of EA and physical exercise on the endocrine system, sympathetic nervous system, and immune functions. She has been in Japan for postdoctoral research in collaboration with professor Mieko Kurosawa.
